The Jacksonville State volleyball team and head coach Derek Schroeder have announced the promotion of Kat Raschilla to assistant coach for the 2025-26 season.
In 2024, Raschilla was a part of the volleyball staff as a graduate assistant in a season that saw the Gamecocks double their win total from the previous year. Raschilla was also on staff to help coach CUSA All-Conference Second Team honoree, Kayla Williams.
Raschilla, a native of Tuscaloosa, played collegiately at the University of Louisiana-Monroe from 2019-2022. She played in 103 matches and started in 36 of them during her playing career with the Warhawks. Tallied 371 kills on 1.30 kills per set in her four years. She finished her playing career at Edinboro University where she appeared in 26 matches and 91 sets.
In one season at Edinboro, Raschilla recorded 152 kills, 34 digs, 34 total blocks, and 173 points. She was awarded the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference athlete of the week once in November of 2023 after leading the team with 26 kills in wins over Gannon and Mercyhurst.
As a senior in 2022 at ULM, Raschilla totaled 51 kills with 17 digs and seven blocks. Her best effort of the season came against Georgia State on Nov. 11, 2022, when she had seven kills, one dig, and a block. In her junior season in 2021, she played in 97 sets over 31 matches with 21 starts. Raschilla posted 122 kills, a team-best 41 blocks, 35 digs, four assists, and two service aces on the year. Against Prairie View A&M on Aug. 27, 2021, she went for 10 kills, two digs, and a block.
As a sophomore in 2020 with the Warhawks, Raschilla appeared in 22 matches, with 10 starts, and played 62 sets. She accumulated 89.5 points, 75 kills, 21 blocks, 11 digs, and a service ace. She had season-highs of 10 kills and three blocks at Arkansas State on Oct. 9, 2020. In her freshman year in 2019, Raschilla played in 27 matches with one start and appeared in 77 sets. She collected 123 kills during the season on 1.49 kills per set. She had five kills, two blocks, and one dig in her collegiate debut at New Orleans on Aug. 30, 2019.
Raschilla is the daughter of Bryan and Lauren Raschilla. Her father, Bryan, played football at Youngstown State, while her mother, Lauren, played softball at Ohio University. Her brother, Adam, plays football for Western Kentucky. She is a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School where she was a member of Sigma Alpha Theta and the Spanish National Honor Society. She was also on the A-B Honor Roll. Raschilla also played for the Southern Performance Volleyball Club.
