JAX STATE CAREER:
2024: Played in 11 games, rotating in at cornerback and seeing time on special teams...Made 13 total tackles...Had three total stops at Eastern Michigan (9/14)...Allowed just six receptions in 73 snaps in coverage.
2023: Started the Sam Houston game at cornerback and played in 12-straight games for Jax State after missing the season opener against UTEP … integral part of the Jax State special teams and a key reserve at the cornerback position … has recorded 19 tackles for the Gamecocks, 12 solo, including 2.0 TFL and one sack … has broken up three passes.
2022: Appeared in 10 of JSU’s games for the second straight season…finished with six tackles overall with four of those being unassisted…had a pair of pass breakups at Austin Peay on Oct. 29…collected two solo stops in the finale at Central Arkansas as JSU clinched the ASUN Conference championship.
2021: Played in 10 of JSU’s 11 contests in the fall of 2021…recorded seven unassisted tackles and 12 total tackles…matched his career high with three tackles against Stephen F. Austin on Oct. 9…had three pass breakups against Central Arkansas on Oct. 30.
FALL 2020/SPRING 2021: Made appearances in eight-straight contests during the spring 2021 season in his first year with the Gamecocks…recorded his first career unassisted tackle against UT-Martin on March 1…had a career-high day against Murray State with three unassisted tackles and one with assistance as well as two pass breakups to help lead JSU to their ninth Ohio Valley Conference championship on April 11…finished the year with seven tackles, including five unassisted.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Ronnie Smith at Terry High School in Terry, Miss…as a senior in 2019, racked up over 500 yards and scored nine touchdowns…was a threat for the Bulldogs as a receiver and running the football…had over 500 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior in 2018…a speedster that also ran track for THS…qualified for the Junior Olympics a sprinter…other offers included Central Arkansas, Austin Peay, Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State.
PERSONAL: Born on March 8, 2002, in Columbus, Miss…the son of Marco and Roxie Baker…has an older sister – Anaya, and a younger brother – Matthew…majoring in kinesiology at JSU.
