Jeremie Hart

Jeremie Hart joined the Jax State staff in May of 2026, bringing 15 years of high-level playing and coaching experience to Jacksonville. 

Before coming to Jax State, Hart was an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator at SMU, helping the team make an NIT appearance in 2025 and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2026. Hart helped acquire and develop a recruiting class that was ranked No. 6 nationally by ESPN which was the best in program history and featured three four-star prospects in Jermaine O'Neal Jr., Jaden Toombs, and Nigel Walls.

The Dallas native also helped Boopie Miller earn Second-Team All-ACC honors and former Gamecock Jaron Pierre landed on the honorable mention team after recruiting both of them to SMU. The Mustangs earned their first AP Top 25 ranking in nine seasons. Miller was the fourth-leading scorer in the ACC at 19.1 points per game, and his 6.4 assists per game was second in the ACC and 17th nationally. Pierre averaged 17.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, shooting 46.2% from the field and 75.8% at the free throw line.  

Hart also worked at New Mexico State as the Director of Player Development at New Mexico State, mentoring Femi Odukale who earned All-Conference USA honors. His first Division I coaching job was as a graduate assistant at Kansas State in 2022, advancing to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. Hart was key in the development of Markquis Nowell and Keyontae Johnson which both earned AP All-America and First-Team All-Big XII honors, becoming the first players to be named AP All-Americans in the same season at K-State. Nowell was named the Bob Cousy Award winner which goes to the nation's top point guard.

"Coach Hart was instrumental in my return to pre-incident condition," said Johnson. "Through Hard work and countless hours spent in the gym, I was blessed to achieve a lot of preseason goals. His work ethic and go-getter mentality challenged me tremendously and gave me the tools to elevate my game to the next level." 

Jerome Tang was named the Naismith Coach of the Year during Hart's time in Manhattan. He described Hart as "addicted to basketball." 

Hart got his first job in coaching in 2019 with the London Lightning in Canada which followed a nine-year professional career. which saw him spend time in Ecuador, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, and a training camp in the NBA G-League.  He also spent time as an assistant coach at NCAA Division III Mary Hardin-Baylor.
