Michael Lombardo joined Coach Rodriguez’s staff in spring of 2024. He coordinates the filming of games, practices, clinics, and workouts for the Gamecocks, as well building the film library for the coaches for scouting and teaching purposes. Lombardo also works with the support staff on their daily technological needs.
Prior to Jax State, he spent two seasons at Grambling State University in northern Louisiana. He served Football Video and Technology Director under coach Hue Jackson. Lombardo also worked at Conference USA rival Florida International during the 2021 season on Butch Davis’ staff as the Video Coordinator.
From 2019-2020 Lombardo was a video coordinator for XFL’s revival, consulting the league directors on filming and analytics service as well as running the St. Louis Battlehawks video department.
From 2015-2019, Michael worked at the sports software analytics company Catapult Sports (previously XOS Thunder) helping other coach and video coordinators nationally.
He worked the 2014 season, and spring 2015 for the Virginia Tech Hokie’s in Blacksburg, Virginia with coach Frank Beamer as video assistant.
Michael also had stints with the NFL’s Tennessee Titans and the Nashville Kats of the Arena Football League. He worked as student video worker for Middle Tennessee State University.
