BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Jacksonville State forward Geddes Robinson has been selected as the Ohio Valley Conference's Co-Freshman of the Week after a career week last week, the league office announced on Monday.

Robinson, a 6-foot-5-inch power forward from Bronx, N.Y., shares the weekly honor with Ivan Aska of Murray State after he had a break-out game in Saturday's win at Georgia State. In leading the Gamecocks (2-1) to a 2-0 week, Robinson was 12-of-13 from the field en route to averaging 16 points and five rebounds over the two games.

He scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds in a win over West Alabama on Tuesday at Pete Mathews Coliseum, but his big performance came in the win at Georgia State. In leading JSU to its first non-conference road win since Dec. 16, 2003, Robinson was 8-of-8 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the free throw line to score a game-high 24 points. He also pulled in five boards in the game. On the week, he shot .923 (12-of-13) from the field.

Robinson and the Gamecocks will be in action on Monday at 6 p.m. CT, when they face UMass in Amherst, Mass. The game will be broadcast on the JSU Radio Network with Mike Parris calling the action.
