Four Gamecocks Named to College Football Performance Awards Watch List

Jacksonville State's Marques Ivory, Rodney Garrott, Keginald Harris and Washaun Ealey have all been named to the College Football Performance Awards Watch List for their respective positions.
Ivory, from Warner Robins, Ga., finished the 2010 season with 2,248 passing yards and 18 touchdowns after completing 181-of-309 passes and is named to the CFPA Quarterback Awards Watch List. The senior also rushed for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns to account for 20 touchdowns on the season after starting all 12 games as quarterback last season.
Harris was a first-team All-OVC selection in 2010 after finishing with a team-high five interceptions to rank second in the Ohio Valley Conference as a sophomore. The Town Creek, Ala., also had 49 tackles, five pass breakups and a team-high 10 passes defended and is named to the CFPA Defensive Backs Award Watch List.
Garrott, a native of Huntsville, was fourth on the team last year with 61 tackles, including 45 solo stops. He is named to the CFPA Linebackers Award Watch List after leading the Gamecocks with 13 tackles for loss for 58 yards, including a pair of sacks and forced a team-high six fumbles in 2010.
Ealey, who transferred to Jax State last month, is a rising junior that played in 21 games for the University of Georgia with nine starts during his two seasons with the Bulldogs. He rushed for 1,528 yards and 14 touchdowns, including 811 yards and 11 touchdowns in 12 games as a sophomore, and has led Georgia in rushing for the past two seasons. He was named to the CFPA Running Back Award Watch List.
Jacksonville State finished one of the most successful seasons in the school's Division I history, posting a 9-3 overall record, and was ranked as high as No. 2 during the season. JSU also advanced to the second round of the NCAA playoffs and hosted its first home playoff game in 18 years at the newly renovated Burgess-Snow Field at JSU Stadium.
The Gamecocks open the 2011 season on Thursday, Sept. 1, against OVC member UT Martin. It marks the third time under 11th-year head coach the Gamecocks will open the season at home on a Thursday night. Season tickets are now available by calling the JSU Athletic Ticket Office at 256-782-8499.
