JSU's Samuel Ogden Named FCS Video Coordinator of the Year

The Collegiate Sports Video Association has named Jacksonville State's Samuel Ogden the 2013-2014 FCS Video Coordinator of the Year.

Ogden was selected by a vote of his peers in the FCS to receive the Coordinator of the Year honor. He is now a finalist for the prestigious Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year award, which will be announced at the annual CSVA banquet on May 22nd, 2014.

The Bob Matey Award is presented to the Video Coordinator who displays innovation, determination, perseverance, and technical skill as portrayed by the late Bob Matey, legendary Video Coordinator from Texas A&M.

Sam Ogden is entering his fifth year at Jacksonville State University, where he has worked as video coordinator for both football and men's basketball.

Ogden has been one of the constants at JSU, working with three different football staffs handling day-to-day activities. He was a part of two FCS playoff appearances (2010, 2013) and an Ohio Valley Conference championship in 2011.

In addition to his role as video coordinator, Ogden has helped capture community service events such as Isaiah 58, which buys and packs meals for over 100,000 people in Honduras quarterly.

He has been a CSVA member since 2012. His motivational and recruiting videos have been featured on various websites as the video of the day.

Ogden is a native of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and completed his bachelor's degree in communications from Jacksonville State University in 2014.
