Jacksonville State Game Notes | Buffalo Game Notes

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Jacksonville State men's basketball team continues its road swing Wednesday in Buffalo, N.Y., as the Gamecocks take on the University of Buffalo at 6 p.m. at Alumni Arena.
 
JSU (2-0) is off to its best start since the 2012-13 squad began its season 3-0 five years ago. The Gamecocks have been an offensive force to be reckoned with, earning their largest win in the program's DI history Friday in a 100-42 victory over Tennessee Wesleyan and their largest road win of the DI era Monday in a 94-61 routing of Richmond.
 
While early yet, the Gamecocks rank in the top 10 of eight national statistical categories. Christian Cunningham sits third with eight total blocks, ninth with 4.0 blocks per game, 22nd with one double-double and 42nd with 20 total rebounds. The junior sits just outside the top 50 in defensive rebounds per game (73rd, 7.5) and rebounds per game (74th, 10.0). Sophomore Tyrik Edwards commands an 18th-best 7.0 assist/turnover ratio, and Jamall Gregory ranks 49th in the NCAA with five steals.

The Gamecocks return home Nov. 30 to take on Alabama State at 7 p.m. at Pete Mathews Coliseum. Until then, JSU has three road games ahead of it. The Gamecocks are in Chattanooga, Tenn., Nov. 20-21 for matchups with Savannah State and the winner of the Chattanooga/Alabama State game. Sunday, Nov. 26, Jacksonville State takes on Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss., at 2 p.m.
