JACKSONVILLE -- The Jacksonville State men's basketball team hits the road one final time during the regular season to wrap up Ohio Valley Conference play this weekend, taking on Eastern Kentucky on Thursday and Morehead State on Saturday. Tipoff for tonight's game against the Colonels is at 6 p.m. in Richmond, Ky.
The Gamecocks have dropped their last five of six games against the Colonels, claiming their lone win in the past three seasons on Jan. 22, 2015 in Jacksonville (71-67). Since then, EKU has won the last four in a row - two in Richmond and two at Pete Mathews Coliseum. JSU has never won a game at Paul S. McBrayer Arena.
JSU is 8-6 in Ohio Valley play, picking up eight wins in 14 OVC games for the first time in program history (under 16-game league schedule). Prior to this year, JSU has recorded just two seasons of eight OVC wins (2011-12, 2012-13) and never won more than eight league contests under the 16-game format.
