MONROE, La. – Jacksonville State registered a pair of goals in the second half to propel JSU to a 2-0 win on the road at Louisiana Monroe on Friday afternoon at the ULM Soccer Complex.

The blanking pushed the Gamecocks' record to 3-2-2 overall and the first result away from Jacksonville for the club.  The Warhawks dropped to 0-7 on the season with the setback.

After a scoreless 64 minutes, JSU tallied the first goal of the final 45 minutes after ULM failed to clear a cross from the left side and the ball squeaked past the Warhawks' keeper.  Sophomore Danielle Monroe, who played a part in ULM's own goal, collected her fifth goal of the season seven minutes later after dribbling past the ULM defense and striking the ball to the left corner of the net.  Monroe was one of three Jax State players with multiple shot opportunities with two. JSU freshman Kelly Snook collected three shots to lead all players.  Sophomore Rachel Blanding came off the bench for a pair of shots. 

The Gamecocks finished with a 12-4 advantage in shots.  Along with producing the two goals in the second half, JSU's defense was stifling as ULM had one shot attempt in the half.  JSU finished with seven chances in the second half.

Senior goalkeeper Caroline Robinson continues to post clean worksheets with her third shutout of the season and third in the last four matches.  Robinson was credited with one save in the full contest and faced seven shots total.  The Hendersonville, Tennessee native now has 13.5 career shutouts.

JSU will look to carry the momentum of its second half performance on Sunday as it travels to Ruston, Louisiana on Sunday to face Louisiana Tech.  Match time is set for 1 p.m.
