The Gamecocks (18-11, 9-7 OVC) are jockeying for position in the OVC standings with just two games remaining in the regular season. Belmont (22-7, 14-2 OVC) has already locked up one of the top seed in the upcoming OVC Championships, while Jacksonville State has the chance to receive a bye as the possible fourth seed.
Â
Drumwright has the opportunity of moving into second in the Gamecocks' all-time, Division I record book for most points, needing just five to surpass Darion Rackley (2011-15) on the scoring list. Drumwright has 1337 points in his four-year career, trailing Rackley who ended his career as a Gamecock with 1341. He is also currently tied for second all-time at JSU for most games played with 118. He will take sole-possession of the two-spot Thursday and already ranks No. 1 in Jacksonville State history with 97 career starts.
Â
The last time Jacksonville State and Belmont met, the Gamecocks handed the Bruins just their second ever OVC home loss on Jan. 6, winning 64-60 at Curb Event Center in Nashville. It was just JSU's second road win over Belmont, dating back to the 2002 season - prior to the construction of the Curb Center. Going back to last season's win over Belmont in the semifinals of the OVC Tournament, it was the first time in program history the Gamecocks have taken consecutive games against the Bruins.
