TROY, Ala. – The Jacksonville State men's tennis team picked up its sixth win in a row on Saturday, knocking off Nicholls State 4-0 at Troy University.

The Gamecocks (10-1, 0-0 OVC) swept the doubles point and went on to win three of the six singles points en route to the non-conference victory. Nicholls (2-4, 0-0 Southland) managed just three set wins the entire afternoon, while JSU took all three singles points in straight sets.

Aljaz Kaplja,
Andres Gomez and
Paolo Cucalon each scored singles victories, while the teams of
Guillermo Agost/Gomez and
Sergio Lizarraga/
Pablo Caffarena secured the doubles points.

Kaplja downed Oleksander Podgursky 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1, and Gomez topped Eduardo Marino 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4. Cucalon's 6-1, 6-0 win over Lewis Cox at No. 5 sealed the victory for the Gamecocks.

Jacksonville State returns to the court March 7 to take on Kennesaw State at noon at the JSU Tennis Courts.
