GAME NOTES

Carver College Notes
Tipoff Tidbits
- Jacksonville State is hosting Carver College for the second time in program history. JSU owns a 1-0 record in the series, besting the Cougars 101-61 last season.
- Carver served as Jacksonville State's first "home game" of 2018-19, but the game was played at the Cherokee Center & Arena in Centre, Ala., due to construction at Pete Mathews Coliseum following the March 2018 tornado.
- De'Torrion Ware is the Gamecocks' returning leading scorer from their last matchup with Carver, totaling 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting and six free throws in the 2018-19 edition. Former Gamecock Jason Burnell scored a game-high 19 against Cougars.
- The Gamecocks are coming off a 75-53 loss to No. 21 Tennessee. JSU fell to the Vols in Knoxville, Tenn., on Dec. 21.
- Head coach Ray Harper became the fastest Gamecock coach to reach 70 Division I wins in the victory over Evansville. Harper achieved the feat in just 114 games. It was career-win No. 501 for the fourth-year JSU coach.
A win would…
- Give the Gamecocks a 2-0 advantage in the series over Carver College.
- Improve Jacksonville State's home record to 4-1 this season.
- Close out the Gamecocks' non-conference schedule with a 5-8 record.
- Give the Gamecocks a 145-175 record to close out the decade.
- Bring Ray Harper within 17 wins of reaching James Green as JSU's second-winningest Division I head coach.
