NORMAL, Ala. – The Jacksonville State men's basketball team closes out a five-game road stint with a 4 p.m. matchup with in-state program Alabama State on Dec. 7.

Saturday's game against the Bulldogs is the 16th meeting between the two programs. JSU owns a 10-5 advantage in the series and had won four in a row prior to a 73-69 loss in Jacksonville on Nov. 24, 2015.

Jacksonville State is coming off a 67-60 loss at George Mason on Dec. 3. The Gamecocks led 29-28 at the half, but was outscored 39-31 in the second period.
De'Torrion Ware scored a season-high 19 points, while
Derrick Cook had a career-best 11 points.

- Saturday's matchup with Alabama A&M wraps up a five-game road stint for the Gamecocks. JSU returns home Wednesday, Dec. 11 to host Troy.
- This is the 16th meeting between the Gamecocks and Bulldogs. Jacksonville State owns a 10-5 advantage in the series.
- The last meeting between these two teams was Nov. 24, 2015 – the year prior to Coach Ray Harper's arrival. JSU fell 73-69, snapping a four-game winning streak against the Bulldogs.

- On the season, Alabama A&M is shooting 37.3 percent from the field, 30.5 percent from three-point range and averaging 7.8 steals per game.
- Alabama A&M is coming off their highest scoring game of the year in the 80-66 win over Sun Belt foe Troy University. The Bulldogs held the Trojans to only eight made field goals in the second half, for a 28.8 percentage from the floor.
- Freshman Cameron Alford is coming off the best game of his career thus far, scoring a career-high 23 points to go along with nine rebounds and five assists in the Bulldogs win over Troy.
- A win Saturday would give the Bulldogs their second win in a row and second at home in T.M. Elmore Gymnasium.Â
