OXFORD – Thursday's Ohio Valley Softball Tournament games have all been moved up one hour due to the forecast later in the day. Second seeded Jacksonville State will play third-seeded Austin Peay at 9 a.m.
The Gamecocks (34-13, 17-5 OVC) received a double-bye in the eight-team tournament held at Choccolocco Park's Signature Field. JSU will open its tournament in the first game of Day Two on Thursday.
The forecast calls for showers to move into the area during the afternoon hours, so league officials decided to move the schedule up to allow for more time to get the four games in. The winner of the JSU-Austin Peay game will advance to the winner's bracket final on Friday at 1 :30 p.m., while the loser will turn around and play an elimination game at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
All of the games in the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN+, while all of JSU's games will be carried on the JSU Radio Network.
