JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State men's and women's basketball teams bring Ohio Valley Conference play to Pete Mathews Coliseum for the first time Thursday by hosting Murray State. The women tip off at 5 p.m. while the men are set to begin at 8 p.m.

The men's game will broadcast live on ESPNU and be available online through ESPN on WatchESPN, and the women's contest will broadcast on ESPN+. Visit espn.com/watch or download the ESPN app to view the games on a computer or mobile device.
The first 100 students through the doors to each game will receive a free t-shirt.

Mike Parris, on the Gamecock Radio Network and online. Parris is entering his 37th season on the mic for Jacksonville State basketball.

Jacksonville State continues its homestand Saturday, Jan. 11 against Austin Peay. Women's game time is 1:45 p.m. and the men play at 4 p.m.Â

- Inside Pete Mathews Coliseum, Jacksonville State is 3-2 against Murray State since earning its first win over the Racers on Jan. 26 during the 2012-13 season.
- The Gamecocks scored just their second win inside Alumni Coliseum with an 80-71 victory over Eastern Kentucky on Jan. 4. JSU is now 2-13 inside the oldest basketball venue in the OVC.
- JSU's wins over Morehead State and EKU swept the opening week of conference action for the fourth season in a row.
- Jacksonville State improved to 10-7 in OVC openers, 13-12 all-time in conference openers with a 76-72 win at Morehead State Thursday.
- The Gamecocks are now 4-2 in OVC openers on the road and 6-4 in all-time road conference openers.

- Sophomore guard Tevin Brown leads the racers with 237 points scored this season, averaging 16.9 points per contest.

The Gamecocks (5-8, 1-1 Ohio Valley Conference) are coming off a 43-33 road win at Eastern Kentucky to split the opening weekend of league play last Saturday. The Racers (8-5, 1-1 OVC) enter with a similar with a similar conference mark after defeating Southeast Missouri, 70-62, in their last game.

Kiana Johnson led JSU with 13 points that last timeout, while redshirt-senior
Chloe Long had a season-high 12 rebounds at EKU. The Gamecocks also field the best 3-point scoring defense in the conference holding opponents to shooting .287 from long range and connecting on just 50 baskets.
