JACKSONVILLE – Preparing for its first season back in the ASUN Conference, the Jacksonville State track and field team has announced its indoor schedule for the upcoming winter.
Head Coach
Matthew Boone's squad will have an earlier start than normal, competing in early December for the first time since 2016. JSU will head to the Visit Winston-Salem Kick-off Classic hosted at the JDL Fast Track on December 4 to open the year. The Gamecocks will then have a break for the holidays before returning to action January 15 for the UAB Meet at the Birmingham CrossPlex. Jax State will return to the CrossPlex a week later on the 21st to compete in Samford's Invitational.
The Gamecocks travel to ASUN member Bellarmine on Feb. 4, and then back to Birmingham the following week for its final regular-season meet on Feb. 11. The ASUN Indoor Championship will be hosted by Liberty, Feb. 25-26, in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic last year, the Ohio Valley Conference ran simultaneous cross country and indoor track schedules, limiting JSU to just two indoor meets. The Gamecocks enter the 2022 spring season with a plethora of new talent following its latest
signing class.
JSU's outdoor portion of the 2022 schedule will be released at a later date.
