The Gamecocks (27-19, 10-8 ASUN) are looking to secure a spot in the ASUN Tournament, which will take place in Jacksonville, Fla., from May 10-14. The eight-team tournament will feature the top three teams in each the ASUN's East and West Divisions, as well as the two remaining teams with the highest winning percentage in league games.
JSU enters the weekend in third place in the West Division and holds a three-game lead over fourth-place Lipscomb with six games remaining. The Knights (10-35, 1-17 ASUN) are looking to right the ship after dropping their last nine games and their last 14 in league play. The Gamecocks have won two straight and seven of their last 11 games.
JSU is led by junior
Camryn McLemore's ASUN-best .404 batting average. The Saraland, Ala., native is one of six JSU players batting above .300 this season. Sophomore
Lindsey Richardson is second on the team with a .364 average, while senior
Addie Robinson is third at .348.
Robinson looks to stay hot after a huge weekend at the plate against North Alabama last week. The Five Points, Ala., native hit four home runs against the Lions and is tied with junior
Megan Fortner for the team lead with six. Fortner leads the team with 29 RBI and holds a .317 average.
In the circle, the freshman duo of
Sarah Currie and
Kat Carter continue to pace the Gamecocks. Currie is 11-7 with a 2.68 earned run average, while Carter's 14-9 record has her fifth in the ASUN in wins.
Hannah Webb leads the Knights with a .309 average, while Chloe Collins is hitting .293 with teams highs in home runs with six and RBI with 17. In the circle, Carson Goatley and Claire Murphy each have a 4.80 ERA.
