Wednesday's Inaugural Sand Mountain Showdown Canceled

ALBERTVILLE – Wednesday's Inaugural Sand Mountain Showdown between Jacksonville State and Alabama has been canceled due to the threat of inclement weather, Sand Mountain Park and Amphitheater announced Wednesday morning.

The game between the Gamecocks and fifth-ranked Crimson Tide was rescheduled for Wednesday after a severe weather threat on the original date of March 30. Officials had to cancel the game after more weather is possible Wednesday afternoon and evening.

With no other mutual date available this spring, all parties will work to reschedule to a date in the fall. Fans that have tickets for the Sand Mountain Showdown may hold their ticket for the rescheduled date or may request a refund at the following link: https://www.etix.com/ticket/online/help2.jsp

The Gamecocks will turn their attention to their first matchup against an ASUN West Division foe this weekend. JSU will host a three-game series against rival Eastern Kentucky at University Field, beginning with a 1 pm CT doubleheader on Saturday and wrapping up with a 1 pm CT single game on Sunday. All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
