LOUISVILLE—Jax State had three players named to the NFCA All-South Region Third Team, announced this afternoon by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Emma Elrod, junior designated player
Amber Reed, and freshman pitcher
Makenna Moore all picked up the honors which were voted on by the region's head coaches.
Elrod is now a two-time All-Region selection after earning Conference USA Player of the Year honors after hitting .342 this season with 15 doubles, six homers, and 45 RBIs. The Newnan, Ga. native has a team-best 23 multi-hit games and had 10 multi-RBI games.
Reed is hitting .356 this season with 12 doubles, four home runs, and 24 RBIs. The Suwanee, Ga. native had a 32-game reached base streak and had a .393 batting average in Conference USA play.
Moore holds a 16-2 record with a 2.52 ERA in 139 innings of work. The Grain Valley, Mo. native was the Conference USA Pitcher and Freshman of the Year with 113 strikeouts and held opponents to a .205 average against.
The Gamecocks will face UCF at 1:30 p.m. Central on Friday in their first game in the NCAA Softball Tournament in the Tallahassee Regional.
