JACKSONVILLE – Coming off consecutive home wins last weekend, Jax State looks to keep the momentum rolling as it hits the road for a pair of tough matchups in the Bluegrass State.
The Gamecocks (10-13, 3-7 ASUN) open the weekend slate at Eastern Kentucky (14-9, 7-3 ASUN) on Thursday night, before meeting the Knights of Bellarmine on Saturday afternoon. With four weekends of ASUN action remaining, JSU continues to fight to climb the ladder of the league standings. EKU sits in third place in the ASUN, while Bellarmine is part of a five-way logjam for fifth.
Led by leading scorer and senior
Demaree King, JSU has found an efficient rhythm offensively as of late. The Gamecocks are shooting 50-percent or better over their last three games, their best run since last season. JSU improved to 9-2 when scoring at least 70 this season after the 70-53 win over Austin Peay on Saturday.
Thursday's matchup with EKU tips at 7:30 ET/6:30 CT and streams live on ESPN+. JSU will look for a key road win in a place that was a headache for the Gamecocks prior to
Ray Harper's arrival. Jax State lost its first 13 games inside Alumni Coliseum in Richmond, Ky., before winning in 2018. Since then, JSU is 3-1 in the building, and swept both home and away meetings with the Colonels last season.
