JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State will welcome Liberty to Pete Mathews Coliseum Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. in the final home game of the 2022-23 season.
 
Saturday's contest against the Flames (21-7, 12-3 ASUN) will serve as Senior Day for the Gamecocks (11-17, 4-11 ASUN) who remain on a quest to steal a spot in the 10-team conference tournament. Jax State enters Saturday two games behind Jacksonville, Queens and Florida Gulf Coast, all 6-9 in league play, for the final spot in the tournament field. FGCU and JU would own any potential tiebreakers, making JSU's most likely path in requiring three-straight wins beginning against Liberty.
 
The Flames sit firmly in the tournament field still fighting for the league's regular-season title. JSU fell 75-41 to LU way back on Jan. 5 in just the third ASUN game of the season.
 
Prior to tip-off, JSU will honor seniors Denaree King, Skyelar Potter and Maros Zeliznak. King and Potter have led the Gamecock offense all season, both eclipsing 400 points for the season on Thursday night against Queens. King wraps up a three-year career with more than 900 career points as just the third Gamecock all-time with more than 200 career three-pointers. Potter made his lone year at Jax State count as a productive counterpart to King on the outside with 73 triples of his own to go along with 138 rebounds. Lastly, Kosice, Slovakia, native, Maros Zeliznak will be honor prior to his final game at The Pete, which will mark his 131st career game for JSU, extending his own school record for all-time appearances.
 
Following Saturday, JSU's final two games of the regular season will take place next week at Central Arkansas and North Alabama.
