Gamecocks Eliminated by Top-Seeded FIU

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Jacksonville State beach volleyball saw its 2023 campaign come to a close in Friday morning's 5-0 loss to Florida International. That setback in the Contenders Bracket of the Conference USA Championship ends the season for a resilient group of young Gamecocks.

Florida International (19-15), the tournament's top seed, jumped out to a big lead over Jax State (0-20-3) and never looked back. The Panthers tallied five two-set triumphs at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park to advance in the C-USA Championship. Jacksonville State's top pair of Kylee Quigley and Luci Wilkinson had a team-best 22 points in a 21-9, 21-13, loss on Friday.

With their defeat against FIU, the Gamecocks have officially wrapped up their 2023 season. With beach in the rearview, the volleyball program will soon begin preparations for the indoor season, which will begin in August. After two strong seasons in the ASUN Conference and the departure of their previous coaching staff, a new-look Jacksonville State squad will aim for a solid debut in Conference USA this Fall.
