T&F earns USTFCCCA All-Academic honors

NEW ORLEANS –  The Jacksonville State women's track and field program has been recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as an All-Academic Team following its success in the classroom during the 2022-23 season.

To earn USTFCCCA All-Academic status, a program's cumulative GPA (not just the academic year) for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either NCAA Faculty Rep or NCAA Compliance Coordinator or Registrar's Office. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method.

Under first-year head coach Jeremy Provence, Jax State earned a 3.49 cumulative GPA among its team members. The Gamecocks were one of seven CUSA squads. Improving upon the previous year's GPA, the Gamecocks have now received the USTFCCCA's academic honors for three consecutive seasons, and 11 times over the past 14 years.

Jax State's cross country student-athletes return to campus next month to begin preparation for the fall cross country schedule. The Gamecocks open the season histing the annual Foothills Invitational at Choccolocco Park on Friday, Sept. 1 in Oxford, Ala.
