Men’s Golf Heads to Martin Fed Invitational

JACKSONVILLE—The Jax State men's golf team is back on the course after a two-week hiatus to participate in the Martin Fed Invitational in Killen at Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club.
Most recently, the Gamecocks were third at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate hosted by Arkansas State led by a sixth-place finish by Santiago Bailleres at 10-under. Bailleres was named the Conference USA Golfer of the Week after posting rounds of 68, 71, and 67 with 15 birdies during the tournament.
Bailleres leads the team in scoring average at 70.92 per 18 holes. His 47 birdies is second on the roster behind Ryley Heath who has 52.
Turtle Point will be laid out as a 7,035-yard Par 72 course for the 54-hole event. The first two rounds will take place on Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The final round will be played on Tuesday starting at 8L30 with a shotgun start.
Joining the Gamecocks in the field will be Stephen F. Austin, Western Illinois, Missouri, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Lincoln Memorial, Alabama A&M, West Florida, Samford, Auburn, Montevallo, Wallace State, and North Alabama.
