MURFREESBORO, TN. – Jacksonville State lost their second consecutive match to Middle Tennessee State on Sunday.
The Blue Raiders improved to 8-12 overall and 4-4 in CUSA action. The Gamecocks fell to 7-14 on the season and 0-8 in conference play. MTSU took the match in a three-set sweep by scores of 25-11, 25-11, and 25-17.
The Gamecocks had 29 digs, 18 kills, 17 assists, three blocks, and three service aces in the 2 p.m. match.
Kayla Williams was the lone Gamecock to hit the double-digit mark in kills with 10.
Ellie Garrett had a team-best 15 assists and
Brooklyn Schiffli led the way with 15 digs.
The Gamecocks return to Pete Mathews Coliseum next Friday, Oct. 18, and Saturday, Oct. 19, for a showdown with UTEP who is currently tied for first in the CUSA. The matches will be streamed live on ESPN+, live stats will be available at JaxStateSports.com, and admission to all home volleyball matches is free.
