Down 13 points with just over seven minutes to play against Georgia State, Jax State rattled off a 22-4 run over the final 7:13 to topple Georgia State 72-67 on Nov. 13. A
Jaron Pierre Jr. fast break dunk tied the contest with 2:10 remaining in the game just before a
Mason Nicholson putback layup gave the Gamecocks the lead on the ensuing possession.
Packed the Pete
On Wednesday, Nov. 13 against Georgia State, Jax State fans packed the Pete Mathews Coliseum, setting the attendance mark at 2,654. That is the largest attendance figure in a Jax State non-conference home contest since all the way back in 2014 when 3,312 Gamecock fans filled the Coliseum in a 79-67 win over Dartmouth.

After a stellar Jax State debut,
Jaron Pierre Jr. has continued to stay hot so far this season. Pierre is averaging a Conference USA best 24.0 points per game through three contests, a mark that leaves him ranked 29th in all of NCAA Division I basketball. Pierre set a new season high against Georgia State with 27 points.

Michael Houge has surpassed the double-digit mark for rebounds in every contest so far this season. After pulling down 12 rebounds in the season opener and 11 at Air Force, Houge grabbed 12 rebounds at home against Georgia State. The Saint Peter's transfer ranks 16th in the NCAA in total rebounds (35) and ninth in rebounds per game (11.7).
Seeing Double
For the second time this season, Jax State center
Mason Nicholson and forward
Michael Houge both finished a game with a double-double following the Georgia State game. The pair also accomplished the feat in the season opening 112-68 win over LaGrange. Houge and Nicholson have already combined for four double-doubles this season after entering the season with five career double-doubles combined.

Through three games, Jax State is 45-of-54 from the charity stripe, good for a team free throw percentage of .833. The mark of 83.3 percent ranks Jax State eighth out of 364 NCAA teams in free throw percentage.
Jaron Pierre Jr. leads the team with 12 made free throws, or 4.0 made free throws per game.

After the game against the Chants, Jax State will head to Daytona Beach for a three-game MTE on Nov. 21-23. The Gamecocks open up the Boardwalk Battle against East Carolina on Thursday before playing one of Stetson/Toledo on Friday.
