JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Following a week off of action, Jax State returns to the hardwood against Columbia International on Sunday night at 6 p.m. in The Pete. The Gamecocks are coming off of a trio of tight games in Daytona Beach on Nov. 21-23.

Seeking 1,000
Jaron Pierre Jr. is seeking to join
Marcus Fitzgerald Jr. as the second member of the Jax State roster a part of the 1,000 point club. Pierre scored 482 points at Southern Miss and 330 points at Wichita State before trading in his black and gold for red. With 188 points this season, Pierre would be the first member of the current Jax State roster to score his 1,000th point with the Gamecocks. Pierre currently sits at 975 career points and needs 25 points against the Rams
Boardwalk Battle
Jax State wrapped up the star-studded Boardwalk Battle with a 1-2 record. Jax State knocked off ECU in the opening round before falling to Toledo and James Madison. Toledo is ranked in the Mid Major Top 25 while tournament champion UC San Diego is receiving votes. JMU was ranked in the poll to open the year.
Walk the Plank
Jax State wrapped up the opening round of the Boardwalk Battle with a big win over American foe, East Carolina. Jax State had five players score in double figures to help sink the Pirates in Daytona Beach.
Jao Ituka led the way with 18 points while
Jaron Pierre Jr. finished with 16.
Koree Cotton,
Michael Houge and
Marcellus Brigham Jr. each finished in double figures as well.

Through seven games this season, Jax State guard
Jaron Pierre Jr. ranks in the top 20 nationally in FGA (19th), FGM (20th), MPG (13th), Total Points (13th) and PPG (7th). Pierre Jr. also leads Conference USA in points per game with 23.3.
Cleaning Glass
Jax State ranks fifth in the NCAA in defensive rebounds per game with 32.14. The Gamecocks are just 0.15 behind the leading Kentucky Wildcats.

New Month, New Us
The Dec. 2 game against CIU will be the first game in the month of December for Jax State. Jax State finished off a seven-game November slate and have six games set for December before beginning the conference schedule in January.
