ATHENS, Ga. – Jax State softball fell 9-0 at Georgia on Saturday afternoon in the first of two meetings this weekend with the No. 7-ranked Bulldogs.
Sophomore
Jaliyah Holmes took the loss despite a strong start and going two innings. Jax State also sent
MacKinley Portillo and
Jordan Eslinger to the circle. Holmes held the Bulldogs in check early in a scoreless game through two innings. UGA ultimately scored five in the third and four more in the fourth inning.
The two teams meet again Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET/1:00 CT on SEC Network+.
