MACON, Ga. – Jax State's volleyball team stepped back into the sand for the second time this spring on Wednesday for a set of beach duals at Mercer University.
 
The Gamecocks fell 5-0 to the host Bears and 4-1 to Emmanuel University at MU's Bear Beach.
 
Sophomore Morgan McClure and partner junior Kiara Amigon notched the Gamecocks' first point in a fifth flight victory over Emmanuel, coming back from a 21-17 opening set loss to win 21-14 and 15-8 in the final two sets to claim the point. Brooklyn Schiffli and Caty Havekost forced a third set on court No. 2 with a 22-20 win, while Luci Wilkinson and Selin Sakiroglu also went three sets on Wednesday.
 
The Gamecocks will scrimmage indoors this weekend, and return for more beach competition next weekend at the Scenic City Showdown in Chattanooga against Carson Newman and Tusculum.
