JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State will kick the 2025 season off on a Thursday night at UCF, the two schools announced on Thursday morning.
 
The Gamecocks and Knights will play the 2025 season opener on Thursday, August 28 at FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando. It will be just the second game against a Big 12 opponent for Jax State, who played at Kansas in 2003.
 
The game wraps up Jax State's 2025 non-conference slate, joining previously announced matchups at Georgia Southern on Sept. 13, vs. Murray State on Sept. 20 and at Southern Miss on Sept. 27. It will also be the third-straight year that the Gamecocks will face a Power 5 program after playing at South Carolina in 2023 and at Louisville in 2024.
 
The Gamecocks are gearing up for their first season as a full-fledged member of the Football Bowl Subdivision and of Conference USA in 2024 after an historic 2023 transition season. They went 9-4 and became the first team in history to win a bowl game in a transition season with a 34-31 overtime victory over Louisiana in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.

General admission season tickets are just $75, while season tickets in the Stadium Club are priced at $650 and include a chairback seat, as well as a pregame meal and unlimited snacks and soft drinks during the game.
 
With the upgrades to Burgess-Snow Field, there will be more premium seating available. Multiple suites overlooking the west end zone and other premium options will be available in the Loring and Debbie White Football Complex, as will new outdoor concourse suites on the North side of the stadium.
