
Jax State Student-Athletes Post 3.254 GPA For 2023-24

JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State University student-athletes completed the 2023-24 academic year with a combined 3.254 GPA among Jax State's 18 varsity programs, continuing a trend of both academic and athletic success.
Gamecock student-athletes posted a department-wide 3.269 cumulative GPA for the fall semester followed by a 3.237 mark during the spring term. Following the conclusion of the spring semester, Jax State student-athletes have boasted a 3.0-or-better department GPA for 26-straight terms or 13 consecutive academic years.
"This has been another strong year for our student-athletes in the classroom," Athletic Director Greg Seitz said. "I couldn't be more proud of the efforts they put forth in achieving the high standards that come with being a Gamecock student-athlete both in the classroom and in competition. Our academic staff, tutors and coaches deserve a lot of credit for helping our athletes be successful."
Jax State's Rifle program led the way recording a 3.73 team GPA for the year, followed by women's cross country at 3.65 and the Gamecocks' national championship bowling team with a 3.63 combined GPA. The women's indoor and outdoor track and field teams rounded out the top five.
Overall, 16 of Jax State's 18 varsity teams finished the academic year with above a 3.0 cumulative team GPA. A total of 12 teams achieved at least a 3.51 or better, with men's tennis, volleyball, soccer, softball and beach volleyball all securing a 3.55 mark or better.
