Kristiansen to compete in U20 World Championships

JACKSONVILLE – After representing Norway in the European U20 Championships last summer, Jax State track and field freshman Camilla Dahl Kristiansen has been selected to once again represent Norway, this time at the World U20 Athletics Championships in Lima, Peru on Aug. 27-31.
 
"We are proud of Camilla for this accomplishment. To represent Norway is a great achievement," said Jax State head track and field coach Jeremy Provence, "We will be cheering her on from Jax State!"
  
Kristianson is set to compete in the 4 x 400m relay. She is also the alternate for the 400m and is in the pool for the mixed 4 x 400 relay.
 
"Camilla has worked exceptionally hard and earned this opportunity to represent Norway on the world stage," said assistant coach Stephen Sousa, "The World Athletics U20 World Championships is a showcase of the world's best young talent, and we could not be more proud of her being counted among the world's best."
 
The Jar, Norway native has previously participated in the 2023 European U20 Championships, the 2024 Nordic U20 Championships. She took home the U20 Norwegian 400m title in 2023 and looks to compete on the national stage next week. 
 
Camilla comes to Jax State after being ranked the No. 19 high schooler in the world for the indoor 400m. 
 
The World Athletics U20 World Championships are set to begin on Aug. 27 before concluding on Aug. 31. For more information on the World Championships, visit the World Athletics website.
