Men’s Golf Heads to Second Fall Tourney

JACKSONVILLE—The Jax State men's golf team will head to Manhattan, Kan. for a two-day, three-round tournament which begins Monday at Colbert Hills.
The course just hosted a women's tournament last week which saw the Gamecocks finish third in the field. The men will take to the course against 13 other programs on the 7,525-yard Par-72 course.
Colbert Hills ranks as one of the top 100 golf values in the United States, and is recognized as Kansas' premier public golf layout by Golf Digest. It is a previous host of the Big 12 Women's Championship, NCAA Men's Central Regional, and Kansas Men's Amateur Championship.
The host Wildcats are the two-time defending champion after posting 847(-17) in last year's tournament.
Joining Jax State and K-State will be Bradley, Central Arkansas, Creighton, Drake, Houston Christian, Kansas City, Lindenwood, North Dakota, Northern Iowa, Omaha, Stephen F. Austin, and UT Arlington.
The tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday with a shotgun start with the second round immediately following. The third round will take place on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
