
Men’s Golf Looks to Carry Momentum into Barnett Intercollegiate

JACKSONVILLE—Jax State is coming off one of its best rounds in recent history with a 15-under team score in the final round of the GMac Invitational at Limestone Springs on Tuesday and will look to carry the low scores into this week's tournament in Arkansas.
The Gamecocks carded 60 birdies and a pair of eagles during the 54-hole tournament in Oneonta and had four individual rounds in the 60s. Gabriel Restrepo had the low 18 on the roster with a third-round 65 on Tuesday. Ryley Heath was sixth in the field with an 11-under total of 205 with a team-best 18 birdies.
Heath leads the team in scoring with an average 18-hole score of 71.3 in nine rounds with a team-best 38 birdies. Santiago Bailleres is right behind him at 71.67 per 18 with 32 birdies.
The Gamecocks will play 54 holes at RidgePoint Country Club in Jonesboro, Ark. starting with a 36-hole day on Monday for the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate hosted by Arkansas State.
Also in the field will be the University of Evansville, Tennessee Martin, Stephen F. Austin, New Orleans, Texas State, Murray State, Southeastern Louisiana, Nicholls State, Oklahoma Christian, Austin Peay, Lindenwood, Texas A&M Commerce, Southern Indiana, Eastern Illinois, along with Arkansas State.
