Men’s Golf Opens Season at Squire Creek

JACKSONVILLE—The Gamecocks open the fall portion of the 2024-25 season starting Sunday at the Argent Financial Classic hosted by LA Tech at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, La.
This marks the first time since 2013 Jax State has played in the tournament and have placed as high as third back in 2010.
The Tom Fazio designed Par 72 course is laid out over 7,105 yards and the 54-hole tournament will be played over three days. Squire Creek is ranked as the No. 1 golf course in the state of Louisiana. The course record is held by PGA Tour pro Sam Burns who carded a 60.
Last year at the event, 22 players finished under par with the winning total checking in at 13-under.
Play will begin on the Back 9 each day with the Gamecocks playing with Nicholls and Troy in the first round with tee times starting at 12:10 p.m. and finishing at 12:50 p.m. Rice, Little Rock, Middle Tennessee, Houston, Southern Miss, UAB, Louisiana, Lamar, North Texas, Louisiana Monroe, South Alabama, Western Kentucky, Abilene Christian along with the host Bulldogs will also be in the field.
