JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Jacksonville State Men's Basketball team is set to open its 2025 CUSA home slate on Thursday when it welcomes Louisiana Tech to town. The Gamecocks are set to match up with the Bulldogs for just the third time in program history at The Pete.

Across the last six seasons, Jacksonville State boasts a record of 49-24 in The Pete. The Gamecocks have specifically dominated the non-con ranks, turning in a total record of 23-5 record in non-conference home games since the 2019-20 season.
 
Gamecocks Top WKU For CUSA Win
Jax State waltzed into E.A. Diddle Arena and out-rebounded Western Kentucky 50-30 for its first Conference USA victory of the season. Led by career outings from Quel'Ron House and Mason Nicholson, the Gamecocks overcame a poor shooting outing, firing just 3-for-20 from beyond the arc.
 
House Call
Gamecock freshman and Kentucky native Quel'Ron House finished out his visit to his home state with the best outing of his career on Jan. 9. Against the Hilltoppers in Bowling Green, House collected his first career start and set new career best marks in points, rebounds and assists. The Louisville, Ky. local flirted with a triple double before clocking out with 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
 
The Big Nickel
Mason Nicholson also finished his outing at Western Kentucky with a career day. Nicholson set a new career high with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the floor. On top of his 20-point showing, Nicholson tallied 12 rebounds, finishing just two boards shy of his previous career high of 14.
 
Cleaning The Glass
Jax State ranks seventh in the NCAA in defensive rebounds per game with 29.75. Michael Houge (49th) and Mason Nicholson (100th) both rank in the top 100 in total rebounds per game with 8.6 and 7.7 respectively.
 
100 For Cell
Marcellus Brigham Jr. is the longest tenured player on the Jax State roster, returning for his fifth season in Jacksonville. Brigham has appeared in 107 games across his five seasons in Jacksonville. His appearance at South Alabama this season served as his 100th career game in a Gamecock uniform. 
 
JP in the Ranks
Through 16 games this season, Jax State guard Jaron Pierre Jr. ranks in the top 20 nationally in both Total Points (9th) and PPG (4th). Pierre's 22.2 points per game lead Conference USA and put him among the premier scorers in college basketball.
