JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Jacksonville State Men's Basketball team looks to sweep a two-game homestand on Saturday when Sam Houston comes to town for a 4 p.m. tipoff inside Pete Mathews Coliseum. The game will also serve as a men's basketball alumni reunion and 1985 National Championship winning team celebration.

Party Like It's 1985
Pete Mathews Coliseum will see the stars return on Saturday, Jan. 18 when the Gamecocks welcome back basketball alumni from prior decades, culminating in a halftime recognition of the 1985 Div. II national champions. Don't miss your chance to celebrate the legends, and cheer on our current Gamecocks who are coming off a 63-61 win over Conference USA preseason favorite, Louisiana Tech. Gamecocks Knock Off CUSA Preseason Favorite, Louisiana Tech
On Thursday, Jan. 16, Jax State defended home court and defeated Louisiana Tech 63-61 at the Pete Mathews Coliseum. Jaron Pierre finished the game with a team-high 14 points in the CUSA home opener against the CUSA Coaches Poll preseason No. 1 and preseason CUSA Player of the Year Daniel Batcho.

Across the last six seasons, Jacksonville State boasts a record of 50-24 in The Pete. The Gamecocks have specifically dominated the non-con ranks, turning in a total record of 23-5 record in non-conference home games since the 2019-20 season.

Marcellus Brigham Jr. is the longest tenured player on the Jax State roster, returning for his fifth season in Jacksonville. Brigham has appeared in 107 games across his five seasons in Jacksonville. His appearance at South Alabama this season served as his 100th career game in a Gamecock uniform.

Jaron Pierre Jr. ranks in the top 20 nationally in both Total Points (8th) and PPG (4th). Pierre's 21.7 points per game lead Conference USA and put him among the premier scorers in college basketball.
Gamecocks Top WKU For CUSA Win
Jax State waltzed into E.A. Diddle Arena and out-rebounded Western Kentucky 50-30 for its first Conference USA victory of the season on Jan. 9. Led by career outings from
Quel'Ron House and
Mason Nicholson, the Gamecocks overcame a poor shooting outing, firing just 3-for-20 from beyond the arc.

Gamecock freshman and Kentucky native
Quel'Ron House finished out his visit to his home state with the best outing of his career on Jan. 9. Against the Hilltoppers in Bowling Green, House collected his first career start and set new career best marks in points, rebounds and assists. The Louisville, Ky. local flirted with a triple double before clocking out with 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
