LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Jax State soccer team fell 5-0 to the Liberty Flames in a Conference USA match on Saturday night at Osborne Stadium.
Jax State falls to 6-7-3 on the year and 0-5-1 in CUSA play, while Liberty improves to 9-3-4 overall and 4-0-2 in CUSA play.
The Flames unleashed a first half flurry, putting up 19 shots in the first 45 minutes of action and netting three goals. The first goal came from Ivy Garner at the 20th minute, followed by Gabby Miranda at the 24th minute. Isabella Wedemeyer notched the final goal of the first half at the 32nd minute.
Ella Holmberg notched five saves and the Jax State earned a team save in the first half.
In the second half, the Flames added two goals, starting with Garner's goal in the 65th minute putting Liberty up 4-0. The final goal of the night would be scored in the 87th minute by Keelyn Eslinger.
Camdyn Magrosky earned three saves on the night to put her season total at 14, and Kristen Rudge notched the first save of her career in the 85th minute.
Jax State's lone shot of the night was a shot on goal from Kaia Elverum in the 72nd minute.
Jax State finishes the road trip on Saturday, October 18 at Kennesaw State, before wrapping up the regular season against Western Kentucky at home on Sunday, October 26.
