AUBURN, Ala. – Jax State women's tennis is set to play in the ITA Southern Regionals this week at Auburn University.
The Gamecocks will participate in the event starting on Monday, Oct. 13. The tournament runs until Friday, Oct. 17.
Women's tennis prepped for regionals at Mercer's Gridiron Classic on Oct. 3 through Oct. 5. The team went 14-12 in singles play, while in doubles they ended the weekend 9-5. On Sunday, Oct. 5, the Gamecocks went 3-0 in doubles in Macon.
On Oct. 3, Jax State went 5-4 in singles.
Irene Artigas,
Polina Ramenskaja,
Aneka Patel,
Sae Kaneko, and
Emma Montagner all earned wins on Oct. 3. The following day, the Gamecocks went 9-8.
Oct. 4 was the last day for the Gamecocks to play in singles at the Gridiron Classic. Ramenskaja ended the tournament with a 2-1 singles record, Artigas went 2-1, Patel went 2-1, Kaneko went 2-1, and Montagner went 2-1. Also in the tournament,
Isabella Sambola went 1-2,
Angeles Rodriguez Rizo went 2-1 thanks to a pair of wins on Saturday,
Ava Thomason went 0-2, and
Alba Roche went 0-3.
