JACKSONVILLE—Jax State is looking to keep a couple streaks going and make a little history Wednesday night when it hosts Delaware at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
 
The Gamecocks have won their last seven Weekday CUSA games and have won eight straight at AmFirst Stadium.
 
Jax State will also be looking for its first win over Delaware in program history in this the first meeting in the regular season and as members of the same conference.
 
They'll be looking to carry the momentum of a 2-0 start in Conference USA play after a 29-27 win on Thursday at Sam Houston, thanks to a 52-yard field goal as time expired by Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week Garrison Rippa. Pacing the offense was running back Cam Cook who was also honored as a league player of the week after 31 carries for 218 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
 
During the game, Cook became NCAA Division I's leading rusher this season through seven weeks of games.
 
Delaware is in its first season as an FBS member and Conference USA member. The Fightin' Blue Hens have won three of their first five games at the FBS level with their only setbacks coming in Week 2 at Colorado and their most recent game against WKU.
 
Quarterback Nick Minicucci has passed for 1,372 yards and eight touchdowns in five games which is 16^th most among FBS quarterbacks. He's also rushed for seven touchdowns to lead the team. Kyre Duplessis is his top target at 68 yards per game which is second-best in Conference USA.
 
Delaware won the meeting in 1978 in the Division II playoffs and again in 2020 in the FCS playoffs.
