PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—The Maxwell Football Club announced 13 mid-season watch list additions for the 89
th Maxwell Award, presented to the college football player of the year.
Among those chosen were Jax State junior running back
Cam Cook.
One of just three running backs among the mid-season additions, Cook currently ranks third in rushing yards with 614, fifth in rushing per game at 122.8, and sixth in all-purpose yards per game with 147.8.
The Round Rock, Texas native has rushed for over 100 yards in three of his five games at Jax State and is averaging 5.53 yards per carry.
His versatility has also been on display with 11 catches for 125 yards, coming off of a four-catch, 77-yard performance at Southern Miss to go along with 77 rushing yards.
Cook becomes the first player in program history named to the Maxwell Watch List.
