Jax State Volleyball Heads To Miami To Take On FIU

MIAMI, Fla. – Jax State volleyball takes their talents to South Beach this weekend for a pair of matches against Florida International on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. The Gamecocks take on the Panthers with only three weeks remaining in the regular season.
Jax State is coming off a pair of 3-1 wins at home against Sam Houston on Oct. 24 and Oct. 25. Against the Bearkats, Kayla Williams paced the Gamecocks with 36 total kills on 4.50 kills per set. Sophia Schweikert followed Williams with 26 kills on 3.25 kills per set. Amaya Tolentino added 18 kills, Sanni Rantanen had 15 kills, and Charlee Solomon notched 12 kills in the two matches against Sam Houston.
Solomon continued to shine as the Gamecocks setter with 81 assists on 10.13 assists per set. Solomon was second on the team with 26 digs on 3.25 digs per set. Luci Wilkinson led the Red-and-White with 50 digs on 6.25 digs per set. Morgan Blazzard added 15 digs, respectively.
Solomon ranks first in CUSA with 789 total assists, while ranking third with her average of 9.17 assists per set. Williams is first in the league with 359 kills and 4.17 kills per set. Williams and Solomon are tied for fourth in the conference with 34 service aces thus far. Wilkinson leads CUSA with 4.52 digs per set, while her 389 digs have her second in the conference.
The Gamecocks are sitting in a tie for sixth place with Missouri State heading into the weekend.
