FLORENCE, Ala. – Jax State's late game push at North Alabama was not enough as the Gamecocks fall 66-54 Monday night.

Makala Hobdy led the way for Jax State with 16 points and eight rebounds. Senior transfer Adriana Jones also reached double figures, adding 10. Kyera Thornsbury and Maria Sanchez-Ponce both added seven points.

The Gamecocks lone lead of the game came with 4:59 in the first quarter when Hobdy knocked down a three to put Jax State in front 11-10. Vitoria Carvalho's put back layup with 0:43 left in the first was the final bucket for either team as UNA took a 19-15 advantage into the second.

The Lions went up 10 early in the second, but Jax State was able to get with four with just over four minutes left in the first half. UNA went on to hold a 35-27 advantage heading into halftime.
