JACKSONVILLE—Jax State Head Football Coach
Charles Kelly announced the promotion of
Taylor Housewright to offensive coordinator today.
Last season, Housewright served as the tight ends coach and tutored
Pearson Baldwin to a career year with 26 catches for 302 yards and two touchdowns. His 302 yards were the third-most on the roster.
Prior to Jax State, Housewright was the senior offensive analyst at Georgia Southern. He has served as an offensive coordinator previously at Montana State where he helped them reach the 2021 FCS championship and finished second nationally in scoring and rushing in 2022.
Housewright also helped mentor quarterbacks Sean Chambers who was a two-time All-American and split time with Tommy Mellott who went on to win the Walter Payton Award in 2024.
After finishing fifth in the Harlon Hill Award voting in 2012 as a quarterback at Ashland, Housewright started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Miami (Ohio) before coaching receivers at Wittenberg and Ashland before serving as an offensive graduate assistant at Wyoming. He also spent time as a quality control coach under Joe Moorhead at Mississippi State and Oregon.
The Gamecocks posted a 9-5 record in 2025, making a return trip to the Air National Guard Conference USA Football Championship Game and won the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl.
