Jax State junior golfer
Stanley Campbell will be in the field this week in Litchfield Park, Arizona at Wigwam Golf Resort for the 2025 Patriot All-America Invitational which runs through Wednesday.
Â
The invitation-only field is made up of golfers that earned All-America honors at Divisions I, II, and III as well as the NAIA and NJCAA that are currently enrolled in school and part of a university team. Invitations also went out to freshmen that were First-Team AJGA All-Americans, members of the teams at service academies, members of national teams, amateur championships, and other special invitations.
Â
The 54-hole event features a field of 84 men and 72 women's players in a holiday bowl-like experience. The championship also honors military heroes with each golfer carrying a commemorative PING golf bag that bears the name, rank, and branch of a fallen or wounded hero.
Â
Golfers will have the opportunity to visit Luke Air Force Base which is the training center for F-16 and F-35 fighter pilots.
Â
Campbell will be playing in honor of Army sergeant Jeffery S. Brown who was killed in action in Iraq in 2006.
Â
Campbell begins play on Monday at 11:20 a.m. Central alongside Patrick Neal of MidAmerica Nazarene; who finished third at the NAIA National Championship and Turner Chiles of Sewanee; the Phil Mickelson Division III Freshman of the Year.
Â
Last season at Mississippi Gulf Coast, Campbell was the medalist at the NJCAA Division II National Championship and was a First-Team All-American and a finalist for the Gary Player Award. In 14 rounds with the Gamecocks, Campbell has a 70.7 scoring average. He was the medalist at the Bash in the Boro in a playoff and has been under par in four of the five tournaments in the fall.
