Jax State bowling finished as the runner-up at Stallings Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T with their only loss of the weekend coming in the championship match.

The Gamecocks led the field in total pinfall after five Baker matches on Friday and five rounds of traditional play on Saturday. During traditional play,
Erin Klemencic opened the day with a 276 against Mount St. Mary's and was perfect through eight frames until running into a split in the ninth which she converted and helped her team to a 1,092-983 win. The freshman earned all-tournament honors by finishing second in the field with a 211.83 average.

Jax State knocked off the host Aggies in their second traditional match, thanks to a 222 from
Anna Warkel and a 230 from
Annalise OBryant to score a 997-986 victory. Warkel and OBryant  also landed on the all-tourney team with a 211.33 average and 202.17 average, respectively.

Sunday started with a 992-980 victory over second-ranked Vanderbilt in a traditional match and held an 853-852 heading into the 10
th frame where the Gamecocks got two strikes in the 10
th from Warkel to take control of the match.

In the semifinal round, the Gamecocks downed fourth-seeded North Carolina A&T 4-1, scoring a 214-197 win followed by a 203-186 win in the second to lead 2-0. The Aggies came on strong in the third with strikes in the second through sixth frames while Jax State didn't strike until their first roll of the 10
th in a 248-179 loss. The third-ranked Gamecocks bounced back with 197-186 and 231-170 wins to advance to the final against Vanderbilt

The championship pair provided some challenges as Jax State fell behind 2-0 after 192-173 and 164-125 losses. In the third, they found some footing by getting four strikes from Klemencic, OBryant, and
Dannielle Henderson to get a 211-193 win. Vanderbilt answered with a 193-171 win and then did just enough in the 10
th of Game 5 from a 226-225 win.

Next weekend, the Gamecocks will head to the USBC Sectionals in Smyrna, Tenn.
