Men’s Golf Heads to Daytona for First Spring Team Event

JACKSONVILLE—The Jax State men's golf team returns to action this weekend with a trip to Daytona Beach for the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate hosted by Stetson at LPGA International.
In the fall, the Gamecocks had three top three finishes at the Wildcat Invitational, the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate, and the Martin Fed Invitational. Three players took part in The Stono in early February with Richie Reck earning a Top 10 spot by posting an even-par total over the 54-hole tournament.
In six tournaments, Ryley Heath leads the team in scoring with an average of 71.6 per 18 holes and has a team-high 70 birdies. Santiago Bailleres is close behind at 71.8 strokes per 18 with 65 birdies.
Also in the field this weekend are Florida Atlantic, West Georgia, Georgia State, UCF, Oakland, UNC Wilmington, Columbia, Austin Peay, Troy, North Alabama, Central Arkansas, Wright State, and Campbell. Stetson
Five teams in the field are in the Clippd top 100.
The Hills Course at LPGA International is a Par 72 that covers 6984 yards from the rear tees and is a Golf Digest 4-Star rated course. The resort has been the home course of the LPGA Tour and gained notoriety as a host of multiple Tour Championships. It now serves as the final stage of LPGA Qualifying School.
Play begins on Monday with a 36-hole day and the final round will take place on Tuesday. You can keep up with live scoring on the Scoreboard powered by Clippd.
