DALLAS - Following a 3-1 weekend,
Emma Elrod was named the Conference USA Player of the Week while
Jaci Underwood earns Conference USA Freshman of the Week honors for their dominant offensive outbursts.
Emma Elrod led Jax State with eight hits in 15 at bats for a .533 batting average across four games. Five of Elrod's eight hits came in the form of a double while she also added a homer to her season total.Â
The sophomore from Newnan, Ga. slugged 1.067 with 16 total bases during the week, which saw a 5-for-8 performance in Saturday's doubleheader with three runs scored in the first game of the twinbill.Â
Underwood had an impressive offensive week of her own, stringing six hits in 10 at bats, with five RBI's and five extra base hits. Underwood managed four double and a homer, also adding a walk.Â
In the four games, Underwood finished with a 1.300 slugging percentage and a .636 on base percentage. She finished with a pair of multi-hit performances, including a 2-for-2 outing with two doubles and two RBI's in Friday's series opener.Â
It is the first CUSA Player or Freshman of the Week honor for Jax State this season.
