JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East First Round, Hailey Tucker and Bethelhem Manzano Jimeno will participate in the event beginning on Thursday. Jimeno will run in the 1500m at 2:00 p.m. while Tucker is set to compete in the 400m hurdles at 4:50 p.m.

Jimeno will compete in the third heat of the 1500m while Tucker will run in the fourth heat of the 400m hurdles. Both Gamecocks look to qualify for the quarterfinals on Saturday. 

Tucker set a new 400m hurdle program record in the CUSA Outdoor Track & Field Championship with a 58.30 time, taking home first in the qualifying round. Tucker had the 36^th best time out of any athlete in the East region.

Jimeno clocked the 46^th best time in the East to advance to the first round with a 4:18.24 time set at the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 19. Her time is also the best mark in Jax State's program history.

All four days of the NCAA East First Round are to be broadcast on ESPN+
